Menggapai Impian 2011 – Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (20 December 2011)
UTP places great emphasis in undertaking its corporate social responsibility for the betterment of its surrounding communities.
For the fifth time, UTP has taken the initiative to conduct a programme called ‘Menggapai Impian’ to assist the underprivileged children in having their basic school requirements. Under this initiative, UTP staff were invited to volunteer in sponsoring one or more underprivileged children with the gifts worth RM100.00 each in the form of stationeries, schoolbags, uniforms and shoes for their preparation for the new school term.
57 students from Asrama Anak-anak Yatim Darus Salam (Tambun), Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Yatim Rumah Wawasan (Manjung) and Pusat Jagaan Diamond Hope (Ayer Tawar) benefited from this programme. It is hoped that this contribution will lessen the burden of the homes and will spur the children to work harder.
This programme will also benefit the staff as one way to keep up with the spirit of sharing and giving to those in need.
